Award-Winning Australian Single Malt Whisky

Ancient Wisdom Bourbon Cask Reserve is an 8-year-old Australian single malt whisky, matured in carefully selected ex-Bourbon oak barrels.

Handcrafted by Ancient Wisdom Distillery in Victoria, Australia, this rich and full-bodied single malt combines the depth of Australian malt whisky with the distinctive sweetness, vanilla and toasted oak character imparted by Bourbon-seasoned casks.

The result is a beautifully complex whisky with layers of dark malt, molasses, caramel, vanilla, toasted nuts and oak spice, delivering a luscious mid-palate and a long, textured finish.

The Bourbon Cask Influence

Our whisky is crafted using pristine Blue Mountains spring water and locally brewed wort, fermented under our supervision before being double-distilled in copper pot stills.

The spirit is then matured for 8 years in carefully selected ex-Bourbon oak barrels, allowing the whisky to slowly extract and integrate the flavours held within the seasoned oak.

Bourbon casks are renowned for contributing notes of vanilla, caramel, honey, toasted oak and gentle spice. Extended maturation allows these sweeter characteristics to integrate with the whisky's natural maltiness, developing deeper layers of roasted nuts, dark malt and molasses.

The result is a robust yet beautifully balanced Australian single malt—rich and full-bodied, with generous Bourbon-cask sweetness and a distinctive earthy, nutty character.
